OK! 2 down, 2 to go!!!!!!!!!

Sooooooo looking forward to the day when i finally finish all exams and officially say, "I'm DONE! HA!". That is, assuming that I pass everything and/or I didn't forget to do any core subjects I didn't know about!

I've been packing my bags already, part escapism (I really dont care about the difference between 70 different flavours of insurances and what they do!), part anticipating the great trip I'm gonna have at the end of the year!  When I come to think about it, its only less than a week when I finally get to embark on this amazing journey.. a journey of doing what you'd like to do, when you want to do, and a journey of finally having weekends to yourself instead of telling your work mates... "nah didn't do much during my weekend, just.. assignments".

Hopefully next year I wont sound as boring as I have sounded in the past few years....

Wow... that's uni over. FOREVER

I cant believe four years has past at the glimpse of an eye. I can still vividly remember treading down the main walkway during a putridly hot O-week being a 'freshman', the first day at uni, parties, cruises and cocktail parties.

Everything has gone past so quickly that I dont even realise how quickly time has passed.

I remember having meeting so many people in first year.. so many so-called "friends". But now, everybody's gone their seperate ways... done seperate subjects, seperate careers... they are hardly even acquaintences now. Nor do I hardly see anyone anymore. Worse still, being caught up with uni-work, group work, part-time work.. these 'friends' just drift in front of your eyes. Especially when you do really random subjects compared to everyone you have met during first year.

But that's not to say I was unhappy. (I still had a very enriched uni life!!! Dont' get me wrong!)

I still am happy the way things turned out in uni, despite not being able to see my best of friends, like the way things were during high school. But none the less, the whole uni experience is as hectic as it is rewarding.

So, what next? Now that I have completed what I have to do, I can have more time and concentrate on what I want to do. Perhaps becoming a wedding singer during the weekends or getting some sort of regular gig? Will think about forming a band after this year.

But for now, 3 more exams and i'm out of here!!!! Woohoo! And then America it is baby! OOOOH YEEEH!

I SOOOOOOOO can't wait!

Spiking your colleagues just to get ahead... would you do it?

Watched The Devil Wears Prada on Friday! The clothes, shoes, handbags, coats were ABSOLUTELY AMAAAAZING. And that instantly made me realize.. ok, my waldrobe is crap!

But that aside, it has raised a serious question that has got me thinking. Does spiking your colleagues just to get ahead really come down to choice? Before I watched the movie, the moralistic, idealistic me would say "No, I would never do it, it is WRONG" (and in fact, I hate all those who spike others just to get ahead). But having been exposed to this other side, it makes me realize: do we really have a choice when it comes down to a you-or-me situation? Afterall, getting a promotion is a zero-sum game, and when you play nice guy.. you may also 'finish last'. So is the corporate world an aggressive, back-stabbing, grusome battle of superiority simply because there is "no choice" if you want to get ahead? Perhaps a modern-day version of survival of the fittest?

Is all this ultimately... inevitable?
